Challenge
Most blockchain products are designed for experienced crypto users, often exposing complex wallet mechanics that make onboarding difficult for mainstream audiences.
The challenge was to design a mobile product that simplified blockchain interactions while supporting essential functionality across three interconnected systems: crypto wallets, financial transactions, and reward accumulation. The experience also needed to accommodate real-world spending through a debit card program and a reward system tied to the MP token, all within a clear and intuitive mobile interface.
Process
The project began with product discovery sessions with stakeholders to define the core goals of the MegPrime ecosystem and identify the most critical user journeys for the MVP.
To understand the landscape, I conducted a competitive UX analysis of fintech and crypto platforms including Crypto.com, Bilt Rewards, Fold, and Pinata, studying their approaches to onboarding, wallet interactions, rewards programs, and rent-based financial incentives. The research revealed a consistent gap: most platforms either focused purely on crypto mechanics and lost mainstream users, or simplified so aggressively that power users felt limited. MegPrime needed to thread that needle by making the onboarding feel like a fintech app while preserving the full token utility underneath.
That framing shaped the product's information architecture and feature roadmap. I defined the key modules required for launch around two priorities: a frictionless onboarding and KYC flow that removed crypto-specific complexity from the first-run experience, and a full transaction suite covering On-Ramp, Off-Ramp, Send, Request, and Swap that gave experienced users the control they expected once they were inside the product.
Outcome
Although the MegPrime mobile app has not yet launched publicly, the design work translated the MegPrime vision into a fully realized product experience. By delivering end-to-end design across onboarding, wallet management, and the full transaction suite, I gave stakeholders a tangible artifact to communicate the platform's value to investors and partners. That work directly supported securing the funding required to move the ecosystem into development.
The app is currently in development, with a completed product foundation covering the full information architecture and feature set for launch, including onboarding, KYC, wallet management, and transactions across On-Ramp, Off-Ramp, Send, Request, and Swap.
The platform is designed to evolve further with future capabilities such as mortgage assistance programs, merchant partnerships, and expanded rewards systems that help users transition from renting to home ownership.
